Karla’s Pet Care PSI Hungry Bowl Food Drive 2015

We are beyond pleased to announce that Karla’s Pet Care PSI Hungry Bowl Food Drive 2015 had an astonishing 1,000 pounds of food donated!!!  Along with the pet food there were beds, leashes, and doggy clothes donated to our cause. Thank you to all who gave so generously to the needy dogs and cats at the Elk Grove Animal Control.

Also, a special thanks to our gracious donation drop off locations; Hatton Vet, Laguna Creek Vet, Kittel Family Vet, Elk Grove City Hall, and Elk Grove Police department. Without your contributions this year’s Hungry Bowl Food Drive would not have been such a great success.

Karla’s Pet Care has been a member of Pet Sitter’s International since 2004. Last year was our very first Hungry Bowl™ Pet Food Drive, and we couldn’t have been more pleased with our 700 lbs donation…until now that it is!   Our community is amazing, topping our last years total by a whopping 300 lbs!  You guys are truly fantastic.

As we all know animal shelters and pet-rescue organizations nationwide are in need of pet food to benefit homeless and lost pets. There are around 70 million homeless pets out there. Many of these homeless animals are just house pets that were lost and never reunited with their owners. Pets actually outnumber people 5 to 1 when it comes to homelessness.

That’s a lot of loving companions out there that need care.  And it’s no wonder that after these pets are taken in by Animal Control, it can be hard to find the resources to care for them.  And that is why the Hungry Bowl is so important to us, helping the community of Elk Grove and assisting with over population any was possible. And your generosity will be greatly appreciated by all the sweet dogs and cats at the Elk Grove Animal Control.

Check out this haul!  It overflowed the pick-up truck!
