Parks

Morse Dog Park
Standing at around 30 acres, Morse Community Dog Park is one of the best places to bring your dog in the Elk Grove area. The park is completely fenced in, so your dog has the freedom to roam around at their leisure, just make sure you stay close and pick up after them. Morse Park also offers large shaded areas and picnic benches, basketball courts, jogging trails, and agility courses! Be sure that your dog is only off-leash in the fenced in areas, and that they have updated ID tags and vaccination before entering the park.

The Bark Park
Located in nearby Sacramento, the Truitt Bark Park is considered one of the top dog parks in the region. The park has separate play areas for large and small dogs, so dogs of any size can enjoy their time at the park without their owner worrying! They also have numerous drinking fountains to make sure your pup stays hydrated, lighting for when night falls, and public art for dog owners to enjoy. The Truitt Bark Park is not a place you want to pass up!

Granite Regional Park
Also located in Sacramento is Granite Regional Park. The site was previously used for the mining of precious minerals by the Granite Construction Company but was turned over to the city of Sacramento and developed into a recreational park. The park has over 45,000 square feet of walking and recreational area for you and your pup to explore, and a dedicated dog park that includes plenty of drinking areas and shade. Be sure to bring your dog’s leash when not in the dark park area, as lots of dog walkers make use of the area.

Folsom Lake State Recreation Area
Folsom Lake State Recreation Area encompasses 31 square miles encompasses and includes two bodies of water—giant Folsom Lake and the smaller Lake Natoma, a popular venue for non-motorized watercraft recreation. While dogs aren’t allowed on the swimming beaches at either, it’s not difficult to find a private splash spot (and a spot in the shade) along 80 miles of trails and almost as many miles of shoreline.
